Your first visit with Dr. Thurman is always complimentary! During this first appointment, you will meet Dr. Thurman and our team. Our treatment coordinator will give you a tour of our office and take diagnostic photos and X-Rays. Dr. Thurman will complete a thorough exam and suggest the best orthodontic treatment options based on your concerns. Ready to get started the same day as your consult. We can usually make that happen for you!
To prepare for this first visit, be sure to take some time to complete our new patient and health history forms before you arrive.

Congrats! You made the decision to begin orthodontic treatment. If you don’t start treatment the same day as your consult, you’ll simply schedule a time to come in to start your orthodontic journey. During your braces or Invisalign appointment, any appliances will be installed or ordered. Plan to be in the office for about an hour for this appointment. You’ll receive your own orthodontic care kit and our team will be available to answer all of your questions. We’re here to make sure that you and your family are comfortable, relaxed and excited!

There has never been a better time to begin orthodontic treatment! With today’s technology, appointments are so convenient, and you will find that you won’t miss as much school or work! You will visit Dr. Thurman about every eight to twelve weeks. It’s important to stay on track with appointments so you can complete treatment on time. We will work with you to schedule days and times that work best for you. Please give us a call to reschedule if you run late for an appointment, or know in advance that you will have a conflict so that we may work together to achieve your best results.

To maintain healthy teeth and gums during your orthodontic treatment, Dr. Thurman recommends patients see their general dentist at minimum twice a year for cleanings and evaluations. If he sees that you need additional dental treatment, he will be happy to go the extra mile to coordinate with your dentist to ensure the best result.
